Every day there is an amazing person who has this amazing talent. They have studied their chosen field of expertise extremely well and what they lack is the ability to market themselves. Nobody knows about them. This keeps them being a Best Kept Secret in their own industry.

What products/services do you offer?

The product/service I offer you is marketing: I assist you to get yourself positioned in front the right people, the people who need you and are looking for you.

Why did you start your business and how long have you been running it?

Taking the Best Kept Secrets out of hiding was started because every day I would listen to another business owner who was so talented and yet no one knew about them. Their talent, knowledge and skills was going to waste and the saddest thing I ever saw was the people who really needed them were still living every day in pain and suffering, all because these Best Kept Secrets lacked the knowledge of how to communicate they are the solution to end the pain. They were so well trained in their craft, but lacked the knowledge to be able to Market themselves.

What struggles do you think most businesses face in your industry and what would you say they need to do to overcome them?

The biggest struggle I see in the Marketing industry is the inability to Niche well. Most Marketers are too broad. They will say something like “I help wellness businesses”. They need to learn to drill down into a much tighter niche. Example: “ I help massage therapists”.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment has been able to build 6 businesses from start up to profit. Starting a business with little to no money and then building it to a sustainable profit. This has been my foundation for everything I do today.

What has been your biggest ‘fail’ so far?

There has never been any fails. Everything is a learning opportunity.
When I started in marketing originally, the biggest thing I learnt was this: Always give people what they want to learn.

This is what happened. I was running parenting skills training. I had put my marketing material out letting people know they could learn how to communicate, learn how to get their needs met. No one showed up for my course. So, I went to the people and asked them what they wanted to learn.
The people said to me: “Teach me how to get my kids to listen to me and teach me with respect”

So, I then changed the headline to:
How to get my kids to listen to me and treat me with respect.
I had so many responses, I had to put on 3 extra courses. I went from running one course to now running 4.

Teaching people what they want to learn is the key.

Remember, marketing is all about the ability to communicate you are the solution to solving their problem.

What do you love most about your business?

The Impact that is made is what most excites me. I am the happiest person alive when I see a business succeeding, because this now means that there are people who are being helped, people are being given the solution they need to end their pain and suffering.

What do you find most challenging?

What I find most challenging is seeing the best kept secrets living every day in pain and not knowing how to fix the problem.

How do you promote your business (please include as many details as you can)?

There are several ways I promote this business.

1) Through live and online speaking events
2) Videos posted onto youtube and shared amongst social media platforms
3) Articles are in industry journals, magazines, and newspapers
4) Blogs, lots of people share these on social media sites
5) website funnels which have been SEO optimised for people to find them.

What software did you/your designer use to create your website (eg. WordPress, Wix)?

I built the website my self using Weebly. This is a free website builder that allows the normal person to quickly and easily build a website.

What do you like about your website and what’s not working for you?

I love everything about my website. I built this website from scratch and it functions extremely well.

What lessons have you learnt during your time as an entrepreneur?

The biggest lesson I have learnt is there is always 250 ways to solve a problem.

What key tips for success in business would you like to share with others?

If you have a vision for the world. If you have a dream. Go and build it! Keep talking to people till you find the right people. The right people are the people who believe in you, the ones who get behind you and support you, propel you forward and help you to succeed.
