I help my clients to access gut friendly superfoods in blends that assist in healing the gut whilst providing essential nutrients for optimal health and wellbeing.

What products/services do you offer?

I have two incredible superfood blends at the moment. Inner Peace is designed to help heal the gut by eliminating any unwanted bacteria and build-up. Vital Force is designed to give that extra boost of energy whilst also providing some essential nutrition. Both easy to use and versatile, can be added to smoothies, baked goods or just on top of oats.

Why did you start your business and how long have you been running it?

I started my business officially end of 2018 as I was looking for a product that gently assisted my ‘lazy bowel’ whilst also providing some nutrients and was pleasant to take. Inner Peace Digestive Blend was born from this.

What struggles do you think most businesses face in your industry and what would you say they need to do to overcome them?

I think the ‘health food supplement’ business is probably very saturated and in your face. So it is very hard to stand out from the crowd as a small start-up. I believe having a point of difference is key.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Just getting the business up and running! from production to the website and everything in between can become quite overwhelming.

What has been your biggest ‘fail’ so far?

Probably the marketing! Had no idea it would be so difficult! and sometimes very expensive.

What do you love most about your business?

I love my name Edible Gratitude: Gratitude from within. As a smile from the inside will always brighten your day.

What do you find most challenging?

Marketing. So much to learn and can be very time consuming and costly. Definitely not my forte!

How do you promote your business (please include as many details as you can)?

At the moment I only have the website and socials (fb,instagram) so have been promoting as much as possible on those. I do need to broaden my range though!

What business skills do you have (eg. graphic design, customer service)?

Probably none! ha. My background is pharmacy mainly and a degree in Biomedical Science.

What software did you/your designer use to create your website (eg. WordPress, Wix)?

I was using Squarespace but have since swapped to Shopify in October. I built it myself and am pretty happy with it 🙂

What are some of your favourite business tools and apps?

Probably the most useful is a social media posting app. I have been using Later and also Canva! Canva is so easy to use! Also the free versions are sufficient enough for a small business to keep costs down.

What do you like about your website and what’s not working for you?

I’m probably biased because I built it myself so I do like how my website is easy to use and flows well. I think? ha ha. What’s probably not working would be getting people from the front page to checkout…..

What lessons have you learnt during your time as an entrepreneur?

Many! There have been so many ups and downs! It’s definitely a roller coaster. Work is almost 24/7 and can be challenging but I’ve also learnt that there is always something else to learn! ha ha.

What key tips for success in business would you like to share with others?

Success will always come if you don’t quit! Eventually…..

What is the one thing that you want everyone to take away from this post?

Just do it! Whatever you’ve been dreaming of. There’s always room for more of your uniqueness in this world. Share it with us all.
