We conduct wedding and civil ceremonies, renewal of vows and baby namings. We help our clients by offering a meaningful and affordable service.

What products/services do you offer?

We offer three types of civil ceremonies tailored for very small weddings, medium sized and large gatherings.

Why did you start your business and how long have you been running it?

We started in 2017 after training to be marriage celebrants.  We are a mother and daughter business.

What struggles do you think most businesses face in your industry and what would you say they need to do to overcome them?

The biggest struggle is obtaining weddings – there are many celebrants in Sydney and it is often hard to get work.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Marrying close friends and family members and making the day very special and personalised. Getting such positive feedback from our clients.

What has been your biggest ‘fail’ so far?

Not getting enough business, despite advertising. We are not skilled in marketing. Lack of strategy and ongoing feedback.

What do you love most about your business?

We love being a part of a couple’s special day and making it personal and memorable for them. We also love getting to know our clients.

On social media – Instagram and Facebook and Wedbooker. Formally easy weddings and wedding expos

What software did you/your designer use to create your website (eg. WordPress, Wix)?

Wix

What are some of your favourite business tools and apps?

Instagram, Facebook, google business, wix app is very useful for amending the website and viewing traffic.

What do you like about your website and what’s not working for you?

We love our website, it is informative and easy to read, with lovely photos and descriptions of our services. Traffic to our site is an issue

What lessons have you learnt during your time as an entrepreneur?

That most celebrants get their business by word of mouth, so people who have been in the industry longer are getting more work because they are well known. The importance of having the confidence and strategy to get yourself out there

Seek help where your weaknesses lie

What is the one thing that you want everyone to take away from this post?

They are not alone when setting up their own business but to keep looking as the right people are out there.
