Outdoor lifestyle, travel and wellbeing products for families

Why did you start your business and how long have you been running it?

I am passionate about start ups and running my own business gives me the flexibility I need as a mum of young kids.

What struggles do you think most businesses face in your industry and what would you say they need to do to overcome them?

It can be really overwhelming to run a business, so many things to take care of and keep in mind. I like concentrating on things I’m good at and outsourcing the things I am not that good at, which frees up some time and brings better results.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Having great reviews from customers is always a great achievement.

What has been your biggest ‘fail’ so far?

Hiring digital agency that was not fully capable of helping me take my business where I wanted it to go.

What do you love most about your business?

The joy it brings my customers, the difference we make in their lives, the smiles on the kids faces when they receive our products.

What do you find most challenging?

Lack of person to person interaction, I come from sales background and seeing clients on a daily basis, being a business owner means working alone most of the time, so creating community around my business has been so important.

How do you promote your business (please include as many details as you can)?

I use the power of social media, work with nano, micro and macro influencers, run Facebook ads and google search campaigns

Financial planning, strategy, startup consultancy, sales management

What are some of your favourite business tools and apps?

I love Canva, I use it a lot for my graphic needs

What do you like about your website and what’s not working for you?

I love how it is simple and yet delivers the message of what products we offer. Not sure what is not working, maybe we can have better graphics, SEO is also a key area we are working on

What lessons have you learnt during your time as an entrepreneur?

SEO is so important, before uploading my first product I should have learnt more about SEO optimisation as I had to re-save the images and change descriptions a few times along the way.

What key tips for success in business would you like to share with others?

Create support group around you and if you feel stuck, always ask for help, there are incredible groups out there where women support each other, motivate and help resolve issues.

What is the one thing that you want everyone to take away from this post?

If you run your business from home, don’t feel like you are alone, reach out, hustle, support and seek support if you need to. You can’t know everything, and it is ok to ask for advice.
